The DYA Recreational Boys Lacrosse program for Kindergarten-6th grade boys takes place in the spring and consists of 3 divisions. Players must be registered to play with their grade level.
DYA Boys Lacrosse Divisions (2023-2024 school year):
Rainbow League: Kindergarten-2nd Grade
Native American League: 3rd & 4th Grade
Collegiate League: 5th & 6th Grade
Rainbow League: Opening Day is Sunday, March 10. Weekly one-hour team practices are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM beginning March 27 and continue through mid-May. Games are played on Sundays at 12:30 PM beginning April 7. Occasional late-season practices may be converted to games depending on the number of teams and the rain make-up situation. The season is scheduled to conclude on May 19.
Native American League: Opening Day is Sunday, March 10. Preseason Open Nets is Monday, March 4 & Wednesday, March 6. Two weekly one-hour team practices are held on Monday & Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM beginning March 25 and continuing through mid-May. Games are played on Sundays at 2:15 PM beginning April 7. Occasional late-season practices may be converted to games depending on the number of teams and the rain make-up situation. The season is scheduled to conclude on May 19.
Collegiate League: Opening Day is Sunday, March 10. Preseason Open Nets is Tuesday, March 5 & Thursday, March 7. Two weekly one-hour team practices are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM beginning March 26 and continuing through mid-May. Games are played on Sundays at 4:00 PM beginning April 7. Occasional late-season practices may be converted to games depending on the number of teams and the rain make-up situation. The season is scheduled to conclude on May 19.
Opening Day: Boys Lacrosse Opening Day is Sunday, March 10 at Dublin Scioto Stadium. Rainbow League (K-2nd Grade): 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM; Native American League (3rd/4th Grade): 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM; Collegiate League (5th/6th Grade): 2:15 PM to 3:00 PM. Attendance at Opening Day is REQUIRED for all players. Opening Day allows for coaches and players to gather and brush up on lacrosse skills in organized drill stations and serves as the preseason skills evaluation for both the Rec & Select programs. Coaches are needed to help run predetermined stations. Full equipment is REQUIRED.
Select Team Evaluations (3rd-6th Grade): Team evaluations for the Dublin Select Boys Lacrosse program are held during Opening Day on Sunday, March 10 at Dublin Scioto Stadium. 3rd/4th Grade: 1:15 PM to 2:00 PM; 5th/6th Grade: 2:15 PM to 3:00 PM. Preseason Open Nets (3rd-6th Grade): Open Nets (optional) for 3rd-6th grade players, hosted by DYA Lacrosse coaches, is the week of March 4. Native American League (3rd/4th Grade) is Monday, March 4 & Wednesday, March 6. Collegiate League (5th/6th Grade) is Tuesday, March 5 & Thursday, March 7. Times are 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Emerald Fields. Open Nets consists of guided shooting, passing and ground ball work to prepare for the season. Full equipment is REQUIRED.
Spring Break & Easter Sunday: There are no practices or games during Dublin Spring Break (March 16-24) or Easter Sunday (March 31).
Postponements & Rescheduling: Games postponed due to weather or field conditions will be rescheduled throughout the season.
Equipment: Lacrosse balls and goalie equipment are provided by DYA.
All players are required to have a lacrosse stick and mouth guard. Cleats are recommended for all players. These items are not provided by DYA and will need to be purchased by families. DYA does not sell these items.
K-2nd Grade only: A youth lacrosse stick is provided to all first-time K-2nd Grade players. Stick distribution for first-time K-2nd Grade players occurs at Boys Lacrosse Opening Day on Sunday, March 10.
In addition to the lacrosse stick and mouth guard, the following equipment is required:
Rainbow League (K-2nd grade):
Helmet (K-2nd grade is non-contact; the helmet is intended to acclimate players)
Gloves
Native American & Collegiate Leagues (3rd-6th grade):Helmet

DYA green/white reversible jersey
**Rental Equipment Available**
Helmet, gloves, elbow pads and shoulder pads are available to rent from DYA for $40 with a $350 deposit check. Deposit checks will be returned upon receipt of rented equipment at the end of the spring season and will not be cashed unless equipment is not returned.

Saturday, March 2 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Monday, March 4 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Tuesday, March 5 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM
Sunday, March 10 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
Be sure to bring a check when picking up equipment. Equipment cannot be rented without a deposit check. Deposit checks (for $350, payable to DYA) should be postdated 5/31/2024. The deposit check will not be cashed unless equipment is not returned after the season. The equipment rental pick-up location is the DYA Office (6543 Commerce Pkwy Suite G).

Emerald Fields has an automated external defibrillator (AED) available in case of emergency. AEDs are portable, life-saving devices designed to treat people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, a medical condition in which the heart stops beating suddenly and unexpectedly.

League Fees:
Rainbow League fee is $100.
Native American League fee is $125, plus the cost of a jersey, if you need one.
Collegiate League fee is $125, plus the cost of a jersey, if you need one.

Jersey Information:
All players in the Native American League (3rd/4th Grade) & Collegiate League (5th-6th Grade) are required to wear the reversible DYA green/white lacrosse jersey for league play. The jersey is the same as prior years and is $30 to purchase.
All players in the Rainbow League (K-2nd Grade) will receive a jersey corresponding to their team color at the first practice at no charge.
Coaches Needed: Dublin Youth Athletics is a volunteer organization of parents providing sports programs for kids. Parents can register to coach their child's team during player registration or by clicking "Volunteer" on the user account page at DYA.com. Coaches Corner

Collegiate League (5th/6th Grade): Monday, March 11, 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM @ DYA Office
Team Notification: Families will be notified of their team placement and roster a day or two following the preseason coaches' meeting.
Picture Day: Picture Day is Sunday, April 7. Pictures take place near the field where your game that day is scheduled. The photographers kindly ask that you arrive 45 minutes prior to your team's start time to take individual photos. Team photos will be taken after all individual photos are complete. Photographers will have extra order forms available on Picture Day. Picture Day services are provided by Midwest Sports.
Do you reside outside of DYA boundaries?: This program is open to all families residing within the boundaries of the Dublin City School District or within the City of Dublin. Out of boundary families may participate if there is space available in their child's league. Out of boundary families must pay a $100 out of boundary fee per child to play. This fee does not apply to out of boundary participants that attend school in Dublin.
