2024 Fall Softball

DYA Fall Softball is a two-day-a-week recreational program consisting of 4 preseason practices and 10 games. All activities are held on Tuesday & Thursday evenings. The program is open to 1st through 9th grade girls and consists of 3 divisions. Players must be registered to play with their grade level.
League & Grade Level (2024-2025 school year):
Coach Pitch/Tee-ball League: 1st-3rd Grade
Minor League: 4th/5th Grade
Major League: 6th-9th Grade
Coach Pitch/Tee-ball League:
Teams are scheduled for 4 preseason practices and 10 games (2 per week). Practices and games occur on Tuesdays & Thursdays beginning August 20. Practices are held on August 20, 22, 27, & 29. Practices are 90 minutes in length and start times vary (5:30 PM or 7:00 PM). Games begin September 3 at 6:15 PM with a 1½ hour time limit. Late-season games played on fields without lights may begin as early as 5:30 PM to complete before darkness. Practices and games take place primarily at Avery Park with occasional sessions at Emerald Fields and Scottish Corners Elementary School. The season is scheduled to end October 3.
Minor & Major Leagues:

League Fee: $90*, plus the cost of jerseys, if you need them.

Jerseys: All players are required to wear the DYA green (home) or gray (away) softball jersey for league play. The jerseys are the same as last year. The cost is $40 to purchase the pair of jerseys. Sizes available: Youth-Small, Youth-Medium, Youth-Large, Adult-Small, Adult-Medium, Adult-Large, Adult-XL, and Adult-XXL.
DYA Softball jerseys were redesigned in Spring 2023. Click HERE to view the new design. This season, players have the option to wear either the older pre-2023 design or the newer design. Equipment: Batting helmets, catcher's equipment (chest protector, shin guards and helmet), infielder face masks, and softballs are provided by DYA.
Cleats (no metal cleats) are required for Minor & Major Leagues. Coach Pitch League participants may play in tennis shoes or cleats. Softball pants (gray, white, or black) are preferred so the girls can slide. Players are required to wear the DYA Softball green (home) or gray (away) game jersey and wear a visor/hat and glove in the field. These items are not provided by DYA and are not included in the registration fee. DYA encourages the sharing of bats with teammates who may not have one.
Coaches Needed: Dublin Youth Athletics is a volunteer organization of parents providing sports programs for kids. Parents can register to coach their child's team during player registration or by clicking "Volunteer" on the user account page at DYA.com. Coaches Corner
Coaches' Meeting: The preseason coaches' meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13, 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the DYA Office (6543 Commerce Pkwy, Suite G).
Teammate/Coach Requests:
Teams in the Coach Pitch/Tee-ball League are assigned by the league office and all teammate/coach requests are usually able to be granted.
For the Minor & Major Leagues, DYA will honor up to two teammate requests per player. These requests must be mutual to be considered.
The intent is to help kids play with their friends. DYA reserves the right to place limits on requests if the rules are being utilized to build teams for reasons other than stated. Be sure to include any teammate/coach requests on the registration form. To add teammate/coach requests after registering, email the DYA Office at [email protected].
Team Notification: Families will be notified of their team placement and roster a day or two following the preseason coaches' meeting.

Avery Park and Emerald Fields have an automated external defibrillator (AED) available in case of emergency. AEDs are portable, life-saving devices designed to treat people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, a medical condition in which the heart stops beating suddenly and unexpectedly. Umpires: Minor & Major League Fall Softball games are officiated by youth umpires.
Standings/Tournament: There are no standings and no postseason tournament for Fall Softball.
Concessions/Snack Bar: The Avery Park concession stand will be open on all game nights. All proceeds from concession stand sales benefit the DYA Scholarship Fund. 2024 DYA Concessions Menu (PDF)
Do you reside outside of DYA boundaries?: This program is open to all families residing within the boundaries of the Dublin City School District or within the City of Dublin. Out of boundary families may participate if there is space available in their child's league. Out of boundary families must pay a $100 out of boundary fee per child to play. This fee does not apply to out of boundary participants that attend school in Dublin.
