DYA Girls Volleyball

The information below is from the 2023 Girls Volleyball season.

2023 Recreational Girls Volleyball - Program Information

2023 Recreational Girls Volleyball
August 28-November 4
Weeknight practices, Saturday games

The DYA Girls Volleyball program is open to 3rd through 12th grade girls and consists of 3 divisions. Players must be registered to play with their grade level.

Sign up if your child is trying out for their middle school or high school volleyball team. If your child makes their school team, we will issue you a refund.

Divisions (2023-2024 school year):
3rd/4th Grade Division
5th/6th Grade Division
7th-12th Grade Division

3rd/4th Grade Division: Teams are scheduled for 10 practices and 8 matches. Weekly 1-hour practices are held on weeknights beginning the week of August 28. Practices are held at Dublin elementary school gymnasiums including Bailey, Depp, Glacier Ridge, Hopewell, and Pinney. Practice night (Monday-Thursday) and time (6:30 PM or 7:30 PM) are selected by coaches and generally remain consistent throughout the season. Matches are played on Saturday afternoons at Karrer Middle School beginning September 23. The season is scheduled to end on November 11.

5th/6th Grade Division: Teams are scheduled for 10 practices and 7 matches plus a postseason tournament. Weekly 1-hour practices are held on weeknights beginning the week of August 28. Practices are held at Dublin elementary school gymnasiums including Bailey, Depp, Glacier Ridge, Hopewell, and Pinney. Practice night (Monday-Thursday) and time (6:30 PM or 7:30 PM) are selected by coaches and generally remain consistent throughout the season. Matches are played on Saturday afternoons at Karrer Middle School beginning September 23. The postseason tournament is a 1-day tournament on November 11.

7th-12th Grade Division: Teams are scheduled for 10 practices and 7 matches plus a postseason tournament. Weekly 1-hour practices are held on weeknights beginning the week of August 28. Practices are held at Dublin elementary school gymnasiums including Bailey, Depp, Glacier Ridge, Hopewell, and Pinney. Practice night (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) and time (6:30 PM or 7:30 PM) are selected by coaches and generally remain consistent throughout the season. Matches are played on Saturday afternoons at Karrer Middle School beginning September 23. The postseason tournament is a 1-day tournament on November 11.

Equipment: Volleyballs are provided by the league. Knee pads are highly recommended for all participants to avoid burns and bruises.

Fee: Girls Volleyball fee is $100, plus the cost of a uniform shirt, if you need one.

Uniform Shirt Information: All players wear the DYA Volleyball uniform shirt at matches.

For 2023, the DYA Volleyball uniform shirt has a new design. The new uniform shirt is the same color as prior years; however, the design is different. This season, players have the option to wear either the old style or new style during league play.

The cost is $20 to purchase the new uniform shirt.

Picture Day: Girls Volleyball Picture Day is Saturday, September 23. Pictures take place at the school where your match that day is scheduled. The photographers kindly ask that you arrive 45 to 60 minutes prior to your team's start time to take individual photos. Team photos will be taken on the court immediately before your match begins. Photographers will have extra order forms available on Picture Day. Picture Day services are provided by Midwest Sports.

Medals: Participation medals are awarded to all players at the end of the season.

Coaches Needed: Dublin Youth Athletics is a volunteer organization of parents providing sports programs for kids. If you are able and willing to serve as the head or assistant coach of your child's team, please register online by clicking "Volunteer" on your profile page at DYA.com.

Coaches' Meeting: A preseason meeting of coaches will take place prior to the start of the season. The preseason coaches' meeting is scheduled for Sunday, August 20 at 4:30 PM at the DYA Office (6543 Commerce Pkwy Suite G).

Preseason Coaches' Clinic: The preseason coaches' clinic for Girls Volleyball is scheduled for Monday, August 21 at 7:00 PM at Bailey Elementary (4900 Brandonway Dr).

Team Notification: Families will be notified of their team placement, roster, and practice schedule a day or two following the preseason coaches' meeting.

Do you reside outside of DYA boundaries?: This program is open to all families who reside within the boundaries of the Dublin City School District or within the City of Dublin. Out of boundary families may participate if there is space available in the program.

All facilities have automated external defibrillators (AEDs) available in case of emergency. AEDs are portable, life-saving devices designed to treat people experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, a medical condition in which the heart stops beating suddenly and unexpectedly.
